An Apartment State Of Mind
December 13, 2022
Fairfield is proud to support associates who excel in their positions in our industry. So it is with great pleasure that we celebrate Community Manager Aleshia Morris for winning The Building Industry Association of San Diego (BIA) award for Team of the Year (individual or team). Managing four communities with vastly different circumstances in less than four years is a testament to Aleisha’s unrivaled skills as a community manager.
Once she joined the Fairfield team, Aleshia was first promoted to manager at Westbrook Apartments, where she was the only staff member on site. She not only learned her new role quickly, she tackled every issue the community faced with her signature professionalism and poise. Next, she moved to to Gravity, where she ran operations so well her regional manager said, “It felt like it didn’t have any challenges.” But there were indeed challenges...Gravity was in a challenging location and differed from the local competition. Aleshia took these two challenges and leveraged them as opportunities, and Gravity became on of the fastest lease-ups in Fairfield history.
Aleisha built a team with a spirit that matched the vibrancy of the community at Gravity. Many of these associates are still with Fairfield and have grown into property managers themselves. Her enthusiasm for property management, building relationships, and growing teams, effects those around her as well as the community she serves. Fairfield recently acquired IDEA1 Apartments in San Diego's East Village and Aleshia has stepped up to the opportunity as its new community manager. We're excited to see her continue her path as a true leader who inspires everyone she comes across – her teams, her residents, and her community.
The Building Industry Association of San Diego represents companies that plan, design and build the places where San Diegans live, work and play. Their Spotlight Honors awards recognize the most outstanding contributors — such as builder, trade, and design professionals — to the community and the industry. Collegues and managers nominate candidates by describing the special traits and talents each associate brings to their role and how they work hard to deliver their best each day for the betterment of our industry.
Fairfield is proud to recognize our other associates who were finalists in this year's competition. Out of 45 categories, three additional Fairfield finalists recognized are:
