EARTH DAY AT FAIRFIELD MEANS LIVING GREEN® & CLEANING BEACHES

At Fairfield, we treat every day like it’s Earth Day through sustainable business and development practices. To do something special for Earth Day 2022, Fairfield corporate associates participated in beach cleanup to give back locally to our San Diego community.

Earth Day Beach Cleanup

Thanks to I Love a Clean San Diego’s Adopt-A-Beach program, we were able to clean more than 23 pounds of garbage and debris off of Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. Let’s keep those beaches clean!

6 Categories of Living Green

Since 2007, we’ve been promoting sustainable initiatives at our corporate offices and communities across the nation through our Living Green® initiative. That way, our residents can go green without any extra effort whether it’s Earth Day or not!

This includes things like low-flow toilets and showerheads, water bottle refill stations, and reclaimed water for irrigation.

Recycling

From printing on recycled paper to having recycling stations available at our community, reducing the consumption of new materials is key to sustainability.

Whether it means building our communities within close proximity to public transportation, offering electric car charging stations, or building on-site bike rentals and storage, we focus on ensuring vehicle emissions and pollution are reduced by living at a Fairfield community.

Energy

EnergyStar™ appliances, dual-pane windows, ceiling fans, solar heating for pools, and digital thermostats are just a few of the ways we conserve energy at our communities and corporate offices.

Environment

From eco-friendly cleaning products and fertilizers to low- or no-VOC paint, Fairfield strives to make environmentally friendly choices in all that we do.
