An Apartment State Of Mind
November 15, 2021
Welcome to Embark Apartments in Fremont, California, where every day is a staycation. This community of one, two, and three bedroom apartments centers around the playful creativity the Golden State is known for, which you’ll see in every aspect of the design — all the way through to the landmark public art installation: Embark Apartments’ The Flame of Inspiration.
Designed by Amie Jacobsen, The Flame of Inspiration is a 22-foot tower made of polished stainless steel and thick, colored glass representing the premise that Fremont, as part of the greater San Francisco bay area, is well known as the epicenter of technology. Similarly, the towering size and the colored glass embody the beginnings of all great ideas and the motives that fuel them in society.
“While not meant to have religious connotations, the structure and colored glass panes are meant to emulate the same as those of cathedrals from the 1600s. It’s a place people can go to sit and contemplate in the presence of something beautiful.”
– Amie Jacobsen, artist
