Fairfield Living Green® Communities for Sustainably-Minded Residents

Every day is Earth Day at our Fairfield Living Green® Communities. Thanks to our Living Green program, we’re able to implement green policies that help our mother earth out on a daily basis. Bonus: This year is the 10th anniversary of this successful eco-friendly Fairfield program!

Especially in 2017, we know how important it is to our residents to have these eco sustainable policies in place. So what’s our pledge? We aim to create earth friendly practices at our communities nationwide in the following ways:

WATER CONSERVATION:

In many parts of the country, water conservation is important due to drought conditions. Because of these concerns we’ve implemented faucet aerators (mixed air with water to decrease water consumption)*, low-flow toilets and shower heads to decrease water consumption, use of water-wise landscaping, use of reclaimed water for irrigation, and annual irrigation audits to analyze water consumption and identify water saving opportunities*.

PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT:

At Fairfield, we’ve taken precautions to reduce every day toxins by using environmentally friendly cleaning products*, low and no VOC paints in our accent wall program, trash compactors, and environmentally friendly pest control.

REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION:

To reduce energy, we’ve implemented motion detectors in models and common areas reduce energy consumption, ceiling fans increase airflow and decrease the need for air conditioning, dual-pane windows reduce interior noise levels as well as the need for heat and air conditioning and Energy Star appliance replacement program.

SUPPORT ECO-FRIENDLY TRANSIT:

As eco friendly and electric transit is becoming more and more popular, we want to provide amenities for our sustainably- minded residents such as a Carpool Communication Center to assist residents with finding carpool and public transit opportunities*, electric car charging, electric golf carts, bicycle storage, plus our locations offering close proximity to public transit, shops, services and recreation.
