With the uncertainty of 2020 still looming it may seem that moving isn’t feasible. But it’s totally doable! Here at Fairfield Residential we’ve set up our touch-free leasing program, Keyboard to Keys, to make the process as safe, efficient, and easy as possible.

Let’s check out how you can lease your apartment virtually with these simple steps:

Step 1 – Depending on the property, you can schedule a self-guided, virtual or in-person tour online. If you feel comfortable enough for an in-person tour, you can meet with either one of our leasing associates or do a self-guided tour. Rather stay at home? One of our leasing associates can give you a virtual tour.

Keep in mind that appointments are required are required for all tours and that all properties are not accepting walk-ins at this time.

Step 2 – Easily submit your online application at your chosen property’s website.

Step 3 – Once approved you’ll be able to sign your lease, pay your rent and move-in amount electronically all via our resident portal.

Step 4 – Even picking up your keys in virtual! You will receive a code and location for a lockbox where you can pick up your keys and move into your new home at your convenience. 

These four easy steps make finding an apartment during a pandemic a breeze.

Next up is the moving process, but as long as you’re prepared, this is totally doable as well.

If you don’t need movers, the process is fairly the same as it normally would be. However if you need to hire a moving truck or movers, ask what their protocol is during Covid. Request that any paperwork be virtual. Movers should arrive with the necessary protection to keep you safe.

Each company is different, but have a checklist to keep your basis covered so that you and your surroundings are safe!
